How to change a cars color tutorial using Photoshop Chops (CS3)

 

Today I am going to show you how to change the color of any car/truck using Photoshop. This is a very simple tutorial and should only take you about ten minutes to complete.

The file we will be Photoshop’in today is below you can you any photo you like.

 

 

Okay open your car photo in Photoshop and we are going to use the polygon lasso tool to select around the car make sure to use your zoom when doing this to get the edges right.

 

After you have gone around the car with the polygon lasso tool you should have something that looks similar to this.

 

 

Note: that there are dotted black and white lines all around the car this mean your on the right track. Now while the car is selected press Ctrl + c then Ctrl + v. This should have given you a new layer in your layers panel. (If you can’t see your layers panel press F7 or go to window>> Layers and it will come up). While the car is still selected press Ctrl + u and the Hue/saturation panel should come up. You can select any Hue you would like but I slide my hue bar all the way to the right to +180 changing the color to blue.

 

 

 

After selecting your hue color press ok. Now your car will still be selected so press Ctrl + D to deselect the car and you’re DONE! Just save you image as a jpeg file.
